Finding the perfect pair of boots can seem like a daunting task, especially when faced with a myriad of different sizing charts across different brands and styles. Fit is pivotal when it comes to buying footwear as an incorrectly fitted shoe can sometimes cause pain and discomfort. At Duo, we know that our boots are a little different, offering boots in eight different calf sizes, adding another element into an already confusing mix of numbers. We hope by reading on you can gain an understanding of these elusive charts and pick your perfect knee high boot to fit you.
Our boots are made using standard sizing so just got for the size you normally wear. If you are in-between sizes we would recommend sizing up - especially if you are going for a knee high boot with a higher heel or pointed toe such as the Belmore or the Freya. When you put your foot into a pair of heels, your toes are naturally pushed into the toe area of the boot so a little added room is always a bonus. If you are still unsure or just want to be on the safe side our size charts come with foot length measurements so you can double check yourself. In order to measure foot length, place your foot flat on the ground and take a tape measure or ruler from your heel along the side of your foot to the big toe. The measurement, in mm will give you a length that you can match up with our very own sizing chart.
All of our boots have a medium width around the foot which changes as you go up in size. Foot width is often measured incorrectly as people assume you measure the widest part of your foot - which makes complete sense. However for a more accurate number measure from the bottom of your first toe to your little toe. Look at this measurement, in mm, as well as your length measurement against our size chart to make sure you’re ordering your ideal size for pain free walking.
Some of our more popular boots come in 3 different heights, petite, standard and tall. As a rough guide we say that women 5 '10 and over should go for the tall height and women 5' 3 and below should go for petite. Obviously leg length is not completely height dependent which is why our shaft heights are listed on each product page. To measure your shaft, measure from the back of your heel to the bottom of your knee, whilst flat footed. Translate this measurements to our boot shaft heights so you can feel confident in your fit.
Finally and arguably most importantly, how to find your calf size. As we carry boots in 8 different calf sizes so making sure you get your perfect fit is something that we take very seriously. To find your correct calf measurement take a tape measure and wrap it around the largest part of your calf while flat and bare footed. With our 8 different calf sizes, we aim to accommodate every women however we know that sometimes that isn’t possible. If you are between sizes don’t worry you can still get your perfect fit. With calf size, if between sizes, we would always recommend sizing down. All our boots are built with added stretch to fit with your calf’s unique shape.
